Before you can expect anyone to spend a significant amount of time READING your website, there must be something ON your site for people to read.
Have you been written by the writing bug? Do you have the desire and the ability to write something that is informative, witty, entertaining, highly useful and practical? Is it so good that people will want to link to your writing from THEIR websites?
If that's the case, then we're good to go... all you'll need to do is learn to use your content management system of choice and start writing, writing, writing. And I'm talking about a LOT of writing. Our goal, in order to REALLY get noticed effectively by the search engines, is 1000 web pages. We'll cover how to ADD all that content to your site and how to ORGANIZE it in another section.
For now, let's assume that you don't want to do all that writing by yourself. Even if you DO want to write as prolifically as a novelist, you might still want stay with us for the rest of these pointers, if you want to get a significant amount of content onto your website in a SHORT amount of time.
Our other options include using free articles (with permission of the author), hiring writers (contractual or otherwise), and encouraging our site visitors to supply their own content through the use of blogs, personal pages, and discussion groups (forums). We'll be covering each one in turn...
